‘I just want to beat his a**’ ⋆ Boxing News 24
By Allan Fox: Deontay Wilder says he can’t wait to kick Tyson Fury’s a** on October 9th in their trilogy match on pay-per-view at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The former WBC heavyweight champion Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KOs) wants to get revenge for his loss to Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) from a year ago in which he felt he was beaten due to the British fighter bending the rules.
This time, Wilder he’s going to take his anger on Fury and knock him out quickly so that he doesn’t need to deal with him.
Wilder could be taking a different approach to this fight from his two previous ones against the big 6’9″ Fury by not putting as much focus on throwing single punches upstairs.
Fury has got the defensive ability that is on par with Canelo Alvarez, and he’s hard to hit when trying to hit him with headshots.
“I just want to beat his a***; it’s as simple as that,” said Deontay Wilder during his virtual press conference about his October 9th fight with Fury.
The referee will need to check Fury’s gloves well ahead of time to make sure they’re not flopping around, as that was one of Wilder’s complaints about their previous fight.
It’s also important that the referee working the fight control the rabbit punching being done for Fury because his use of those illegal punches seemed to be a major factor in his winning his last fight with Wilder.
“I want it back and blood, and that’s up to me. So come October the 9th, I will get my revenge. An eye-for-an-eye, and that’s what I’m looking forward to,” said Wilder.
Most of the boxing world sees this fight as a slamdunk win for Fury because they don’t see Wilder possessing the technical ability or the same to beat Fury.
Wilder has got a puncher’s chance of winning, but he’s not going to be able to use his power if he can’t land. In their last fight, Wilder was missing all night, and showing terrible accuracy with his shots.
Granted, Wilder’s legs were no longer there after getting clipped by a rabbit punch from Fury in the third round, but he was still missing even before he was hurt.
“I can finally close the chapter in this book once and for all. This is the redemption, the retaliation. Here we go. Bombsquad is back. I tell all my fans, ‘Don’t blink,‘” said Wilder.
